PLANNING YOUR TRIP:

If you like to use Google Maps or GPS: Danford’s Marina is located at 25 East Broadway, Port Jefferson 11777.

Driving suggestions:

  1. Once in Queens, the easiest, most direct route is the Long Island Expressway (LIE 495) to Exit 62 Nicolls Road – route 97.  Go North on Nicolls Road approx. 8 miles to end. You will pass both Suffolk County Community College and Stony Brook University on your way north.  At the end of Nicolls – 97, turn RIGHT on 25A East. Follow about 3.5 miles. Danford’s Marina is at the bottom of the hill just past the main intersection on the water.
  2. If you prefer a parkway to the expressway, take the Grand Central Parkway in Queens. That turns into the Northern State Parkway.  After 30 miles, the parkway ends. Mergers into 454 / 347. Keep driving east through lots of traffic lights.  At 3 mile mark, bear LEFT stay with 347.  Another 9 miles or so, make a LEFT on 112 North (after Jayne Blvd and Terryville Rd).  Take 112 to the end.  Danford’s is on your right, on the water.

Driving option from Albany north and west:

  • You have the option of taking 90 East into Massachusetts and coming down through Connecticut to Bridgeport, CT.  There is a car ferry from Bridgeport to Port Jefferson that exits adjacent to Danford’s.  For information about the Ferry and to make reservations (STRONGLY RECOMMENDED), visit: www.bpjferry.com.  For directions, Google directions from Albany, NY to Bridgeport, CT.

If you like to fly:

  • Islip Airport (ISP) is about a 25 minute drive to Port Jefferson.  This airport is dominated by Southwest Airlines.
  • JFK and LGA airports are both at least an hour’s drive to Port Jefferson.

EXTENDING YOUR TRIP:

If you haven’t spent time on Long Island, consider extending your stay for the weekend and drive out to the  Long Island Wine Country. You won’t believe you are “downstate.” Or, if you prefer the swagger of the Hamptons, outlet shopping, golf, or cultural and historical sites, take a look at our tourism website: http://www.discoverlongisland.com/

We look forward to hosting you this May!
